ClaudeMap Monthly Update — August 2026

The first edition of the ClaudeMap monthly update. Every month we summarize what changed on the map itself — resources charted, guides published, and site improvements — so readers and crawlers have one stable page that records the ecosystem's movement over time.

TL;DR

  • 106 new resources charted in August, including official MCP servers from Google Chrome DevTools, Microsoft/Azure, MongoDB, Redis, Sentry, Cloudflare, AWS, and Docker
  • 17 guides now live, with a new MCP OAuth authorization guide, plus deep dives on Agent SDK, Computer Use, prompt caching, and MCP transports
  • Site improvements: two thinnest guides expanded, 13 canonical-home link fixes, privacy policy + terms of use, and richer resource detail pages

What was charted this month

August was the biggest month yet for new entries. The highlights, grouped by theme:

Official MCP servers. Major vendors shipped or polished first-party servers this month. MongoDB's server exposes Atlas and self-hosted cluster capabilities; Redis's official server covers strings, JSON, hashes, and vector search through RediSearch; Sentry's server surfaces issues, stack traces, and release health (with a hosted mcp.sentry.dev endpoint); Cloudflare's covers Workers, Observability, Radar, and AI Gateway; AWS Labs consolidated an umbrella repository for Lambda, CDK, Pricing, and Diagnostics.

Database and SaaS integrations. Postgres MCP Pro, Upstash Redis, Atlassian (Jira & Confluence), Airtable, and Browserbase joined the map, alongside the Stripe Agent Toolkit and ElevenLabs MCP for voice.

SDKs and tooling. New language SDKs landed across the board — Go, Java, Ruby, C#, PHP, Rust, Swift, and Kotlin now have MCP or Anthropic SDK coverage. FastMCP and Composio became featured entries. Vercel shipped an MCP adapter for hosting servers on serverless functions.

Agent frameworks. LangGraph, Composio, MetaGPT, mcp-agent, BeeAI, Browser Use, and Cloudflare Agents were charted, plus HumanLayer's 12-Factor Agents principles and Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners course.

Skills and prompts. Superpowers Skills and Agentic Awesome Skills joined the skills section, alongside several prompt libraries and the CL4R1T4S research collection.

Late-August wave (August 29). The month closed with 20 more entries. On the server side: official reference servers for Git and time, Linear's hosted MCP with OAuth, Docker's MCP Gateway, Zen MCP for multi-model orchestration, an iOS Simulator server for mobile workflows, and Elastic's Elasticsearch server (now deprecated in favor of Agent Builder — listed with that caveat). On the agent side: Goose, CrewAI, Claude Flow, and Claude Squad. The skills section gained the Agentic Plugin Marketplace, SuperClaude Framework, and VoltAgent's 100+ subagent collection. SDKs: the MCP Java SDK completed the official language matrix, joined by the Vercel AI SDK and Stagehand. Anthropic's official Prompt Library, Hugging Face's MCP Course, and Anthropic Academy round out the prompts and learning paths.

Closing additions (August 30). Seven final entries: Anthropic's official Claude Code Security Review action, LiteLLM's AI gateway, the OpenCode coding agent, and Claude Mem's persistent memory on the tooling side; the Hugging Face Agents Course and Microsoft's Generative AI for Beginners on the learning side; and Spec Workflow MCP for spec-driven development.

Month-end wave (August 31). The largest single-day batch closed the month with 21 entries. The spec-driven development wave led: GitHub's official Spec Kit, OpenSpec, BMAD-METHOD, Claude Task Master, CCPM, and Agent OS. Anthropic shipped two official directories — the Claude Code plugin marketplace and the knowledge-work plugin collection. On the MCP server side, Google's Chrome DevTools team shipped an official debugging server (featured), joined by Figma Context MCP and Microsoft's consolidated MCP catalog (the new home of Azure MCP). Tooling gained ccusage (Claude Code cost analytics), Smithery (the leading third-party MCP registry), container-use, Claude Code UI, and the official Claude Agent SDK demos. Agent frameworks Pydantic AI, Mastra, and smolagents filled out the typed/minimal spectrum, while Anthropic's interactive prompt engineering tutorial and the Anthropic Engineering blog rounded out prompts and guides.

Guides published

17 guides are now live, including August's deep dives:

Site improvements

  • Privacy policy and terms of use are live — the site's actual data practices, stated plainly.
  • Richer detail pages. Resource detail pages now carry structured sections (key features, when to use, getting started, caveats) for the most prominent entries.
  • Canonical-URL fixes. All canonical and hreflang URLs now consistently point at the www host with locale prefixes, eliminating the redirect mismatches that held pages in Google's "crawled, not indexed" state.
  • Outbound-link hygiene (August 30). A no-follow sweep of every resource link caught four entries that had started redirecting; they now point at their canonical homes — Anthropic Academy moved to academy.claude.com, the Claude Code best-practices essay became official documentation at code.claude.com, and the MCP docs site moved to versioned paths.
  • Canonical-home sweep (August 31). A full HTTP status sweep of all entries surfaced 13 more renames and moved pages; every url, repo, and name now points at its current home — Goose, OpenCode, FastMCP (now under Prefect), OpenHands, Youtu-Agent, Ruflo (formerly Claude Flow), prompts.chat, Stripe AI, Vercel MCP Handler, and PAL MCP Server (formerly Zen MCP) among them. The retired Anthropic prompt library page now resolves to the official prompting best-practices guide, and the spec entry pins the versioned MCP specification URL.
  • Guide expansions (August 31). The two thinnest guides got substantially deeper: the Claude Code subagents deep dive gained five common pitfalls and two production orchestrations (parallel research team, PR reviewer output contract) in both languages, and the Claude API getting-started guide gained streaming/tool-use pitfalls plus a full multi-turn support-bot main loop — each with new FAQs.

Frequently asked questions

How often does the monthly update come out?

Once per month, near the end of the month. Each edition covers the resources and guides added since the previous one, plus any site changes worth recording.

Where does the update content come from?

From the map itself. The resource list and guide index are the sources of truth; the update is a human-written summary of what changed there, not automated aggregation.

Will older updates stay available?

Yes. Every edition stays in the guides index under its own slug (monthly-update-YYYY-MM), so the series doubles as a changelog of the map.

How do I get something charted in the next update?

Submit it through the submit page — resources charted after the current edition are picked up in the following month's update.
