Smithery

The leading third-party MCP server registry — thousands of servers with managed install and OAuth.

SDKs & Toolingregistrymcpdirectoryoauth

Smithery is the leading third-party registry for MCP servers: thousands of listed servers, each with standardized install commands, managed OAuth/credentials, and a CLI (npx @smithery/cli) that wires servers into Claude Code and other clients. Now part of Arcade — the commercial complement to the official MCP Registry.

What it does

  • Registry and hosting platform for MCP servers — discover, inspect and deploy
  • Searchable catalog of community MCP servers with install instructions
  • Offers hosted/remote MCP endpoints plus a CLI (@smithery/cli on npm)

When to use it

For finding an MCP server that already exists for your tool (databases, browsers, SaaS APIs) before writing your own, or for hosting yours remotely.

Getting started

Browse smithery.ai for servers; each listing shows its install command. The CLI is on npm as @smithery/cli (npx @smithery/cli).

Things to know

Third-party service — hosted endpoints mean your tool calls flow through their infra; evaluate trust and latency accordingly.
