sepia

A portable Agent Skill that strips AI-sounding patterns from writing — fiction and professional docs alike.

Skills & Commandswritingskillagent-skillsediting

sepia is a de-AI-writing Agent Skill packaged against the open Agent Skills spec: one canonical SKILL.md that any compliant agent can load, installable in one command via the Skills CLI (77+ agents supported), with native plugin packaging for Claude Code among others. Four operations — write, review, refactor, recreate — with venue-matched rules for release notes, PR replies, postmortems, tickets, and technical articles.

What it does

  • Repairs narrative architecture in fiction before touching word choice — not just a synonym swap
  • Venue-matched rules: release notes, PR replies, postmortems, tickets, technical articles each differ
  • One canonical SKILL.md, no per-platform forks; installs via the cross-agent Skills CLI
  • Four operations: write, review (diagnose only), refactor (minimal edits), recreate (full rewrite)

When to use it

Best when AI-assisted text must not read as AI-assisted: public release notes, customer-facing replies, docs that go through human review. Also useful as a lint pass on your own writing habits.

Getting started

npx skills add Nanako0129/sepia -g # -g = user scope; default is project
npx skills update sepia -g # update
npx skills remove sepia -g # uninstall

Things to know

De-AI-ing is editorial, not cosmetic — the refactor operation may change sentence structure you deliberately chose. Review diffs; don't blanket-apply it to legal or regulated copy.
