iOS Simulator MCP

MCP server that lets Claude drive the iOS Simulator — UI inspection, taps, screenshots.

MCP Serversiossimulatormobiletesting

A Node-based MCP server for interacting with iOS simulators: list and boot devices, install and launch apps, describe UI elements, tap and swipe, and capture screenshots. Built on xcrun simctl plus idb for UI automation. The missing piece for mobile workflows — Claude can run the app you just wrote and look at its actual UI.

What it does

  • Drive the iOS Simulator over MCP — tap, swipe, type, screenshot, inspect the UI hierarchy
  • Requires Facebook's IDB tool installed — the README lists it as a hard prerequisite alongside Xcode
  • Works with Cursor/Claude Code via a standard `npx -y ios-simulator-mcp` stdio config

When to use it

Let Claude build-and-verify iOS UI changes in a loop: it can launch the app, tap through flows, and screenshot the result instead of asking you to check.

Getting started

{
  "ios-simulator": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y", "ios-simulator-mcp"]
  }
}

pnpm equivalent: `"command": "pnpm", "args": ["dlx", "ios-simulator-mcp"]`.

Things to know

macOS only, needs Xcode + iOS Simulator + Facebook's IDB installed (`IOS_SIMULATOR_MCP_IDB_PATH` overrides the lookup). It drives the simulator, not physical devices.
