Official Brave Search MCP server for web and local search.
Brave's first-party MCP server exposing web and local search to MCP-aware clients. Replaces the earlier modelcontextprotocol reference server.
The 'Claude can search the web' server with the best free tier among the majors. brave_llm_context is the differentiator — returns pre-extracted content sized for agent context windows.
Get a Brave Search API key (free tier exists), then:
{
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@brave/brave-search-mcp-server"],
"env": { "BRAVE_API_KEY": "..." }
}Local search and extra_snippets need a paid Pro plan — free tier silently falls back to web results. 2.x changed brave_image_search output (no more base64), so screenshots/examples from older tutorials won't match.

Red Hat's "ripgrep for AI context" — a C++23 zero-dependency CLI that also speaks MCP.
One shared session memory for 25+ coding agents — Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor finally remember the same project.
